Vaquejada de Serrinha celebrates 60 years with concerts, tradition and major music stars

In this commemorative edition, Vaquejada de Serrinha takes over Parque Maria do Carmo from September 1 to 6, 2026, bringing together artists including Wesley Safadão, João Gomes, Xand Avião, Léo Santana, Nattan, Pablo and Tarcísio do Acordeon.
Serrinha is preparing once again for one of its best-known celebrations. In 2026, Vaquejada de Serrinha celebrates its 60th anniversary, turning Parque Maria do Carmo into a meeting point for competitors, local residents, tourists and fans of Northeastern Brazilian music.
The full program runs from September 1 to 6, while the major concerts are concentrated mainly on September 5 and 6. For the anniversary edition, the lineup mixes forró, piseiro, arrocha and Bahian pagode, bringing together artists from different generations. The announced program features 12 musical acts.
60 years of a tradition rooted in Bahia’s countryside
The musical scale reached by Vaquejada de Serrinha has not erased the celebration’s origins. The competition between vaqueiros remains one of the event’s central elements and helps keep alive a tradition linked to everyday life, memory and the cultural identity of communities across Northeastern Brazil’s countryside.
In 2026, organizers have announced R$500,000 in prize money for vaqueiros, reinforcing that the competition remains side by side with the major concerts that bring the park to life.
Parque Maria do Carmo welcomes thousands of visitors again
The Parque de Vaquejada Maria do Carmo, in Serrinha, is once again the setting for the program.
During the festival, activity extends beyond the arena. The arrival of visitors also boosts hotels, restaurants, transportation, retail and services in the city, while the park hosts the competitions and performances.
Official ticket sales confirm the musical program for September 5 and 6, with gates expected to open in the evening.
Saturday brings together Xand Avião, Léo Santana, João Gomes and other artists
On Saturday, September 5, the lineup features Xand Avião, Léo Santana, Tarcísio do Acordeon, Toque Dez, João Gomes and Silvânia & Berg.
It is a combination that reflects different moments in Northeastern Brazilian music: artists who helped establish electronic forró meet a generation that gained prominence through piseiro, arrocha and digital platforms.
Bahia is also represented in the lineup by Léo Santana and Toque Dez, while João Gomes and Tarcísio do Acordeon bring the repertoire even closer to the world of vaquejadas.

On Sunday, September 6, the celebration continues with Wesley Safadão, Pablo, Nattan, Rey Vaqueiro, Netto Brito and Devinho Novaes.
From the forró of Safadão and Nattan to Pablo’s romantic arrocha, the lineup crosses styles that maintain a strong connection with Northeastern Brazilian audiences.
Rey Vaqueiro adds an even more direct connection to the culture portrayed by the event, while Netto Brito and Devinho Novaes represent different moments in regional arrocha and romantic music.
