José Pellegrino releases the album “Before Sunrise”

In a world where routines have become fast-paced, mechanized, and permeated by digital technology, José Pellegrino presents "Antes do Sol Nascer" (Before Sunrise), his new album of original compositions, now available on all music platforms through the Base Company label . Built upon the experience of living in large cities, the project translates the blend of everyday intensity and the urgent search for something more authentic.

“The album stems from a feeling that is very present in life in big cities. This mixture of intense, mechanized, and digitized routine, along with an almost urgent search for something more genuine,” says the artist.

The work consists of 9 original songs. which explore the desire to reconnect with the natural world, with people, and with one's own identity, while also touching on social critiques and reflections on the contemporary way of life. "It's an album that invites you to take a break," reflects the artist.

Check out the album's tracklist:

1 - Aquarium 2 - Wind 3 - Void 4 - Away From Home 5 - Elephant 6 - Clothesline 7 - Silence 8 - Philosophy 9 - Breath

The creative process was guided by naturalness and time. The tracks initially emerged on the guitar, in intimate and spontaneous moments. "Antes do Sol Nascer" (Before the Sun Rises) brings together compositions written over a decade. "The album is a compilation of songs written over ten years. Some are a year old, others are ten," he adds.

The production was led by Guilherme Chipapetta and Gustavo Siqueira , and gained essential layers with the participation of Cintia Pereira , responsible for opening vocals, piano, and accordion. "I was very happy with the result," says José.

With a sound that blends folk and soft elements of alternative music, the album maintains voice and guitar as its base, while banjo, second guitar, accordion, piano, and vocal arrangements amplify the emotional atmosphere. "I see this work as melancholic, but not sad. It invites reflection and, at the same time, is comforting and hopeful," summarizes the artist.

José is excited about the release. “Expectations are high, but in a good way. It’s exciting to think about sharing this work with other people,” he says. For him, the album can connect with those who are also seeking what the music proposes. “I feel that these songs can find those who are living this fast-paced rhythm and are looking for some kind of respite,” he concludes.

About José Pellegrino:

José Pellegrino , a singer and songwriter from São Paulo, found in music a path that has accompanied him since childhood. Raised in an environment full of records and conversations about art, he grew up listening to names like Sublime, Bob Marley, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Rush , a soundtrack that sparked his curiosity for melodies, lyrics, and sensations. This initial contact soon expanded to school, where he met friends who became a fundamental part of his musical journey. With them, he began to play, compose, and experiment with instruments like guitar and drums, starting his first original creations.

Even while also building a career in education, José always knew that music occupied an essential space in his life. From adolescence to early adulthood, he lived a remarkable phase as a member of his first band, in which he acted as vocalist, drummer, guitarist, and composer. He performed in different venues in São Paulo, such as Tribe House, Jack Black, Carioca Club, Hangar 110, and Novo Aeon , and participated in a street festival in Aldeia da Serra .

Currently pursuing a solo career, he develops a contemporary folk project marked by an intimate sound, voice and guitar, melancholic melodies, and lyrics that combine social criticism, sensitivity, and a search for authenticity. His main influences include Dallas Green (City and Colour), Evan Stephens Hall, John Denver, Bob Dylan, and Neil Young , among others. In Brazilian music, he draws on references from Belchior, Milton Nascimento, Djavan, Novos Baianos, Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, and Jorge Ben Jor , names that resonate in his lyrical construction and his attentive gaze towards daily life, spirituality, and human relationships.

With an artistic process guided by honesty and calm, José Pellegrino dreams of building an audience that genuinely connects with his music, albeit in an intimate and gradual way. His greatest desire is to release consistent, sensitive, and coherent works that reflect his identity, allowing his work to find its own path.

In this new phase, the artist begins a partnership with the Base Company label , which will oversee his upcoming releases and strengthen the development of his career. The coming months mark the arrival of his first album , a project that reflects on routine, urban life in São Paulo, nature, and the search for something more real amidst modern chaos. This release opens the doors to a carefully planned expansion phase, seeking to connect his music to new people, new places, and new possibilities.
